1. Dark colours. One of the boldest new bathroom trends is black or very dark walls, as used to stunning effect by Izzy @nest_number_9. A sleek black bath tray and geometric monochrome rug complete this striking look.

2. Urban Oasis. We're big fans of the urban oasis look. This chic design by Ross and George @freemensmeadow_26 uses touches of unfinished wood and plenty of greenery to bring the outside in.

3.Technology. Netflix and chill in the bath has to be one of our ultimate bathroom goals. This fabulous technologically enhanced bathroom belongs to Rosie @home_sweet_home_46. Hampton and Astley's irresistibly soft Egyptian cotton towels in pink give it a softer edge.

4. Metallic surfaces. Glam metal finishes are huge this year, with exposed brass or copper pipework now something to be displayed rather than hidden away. We adore the brushed copper fixings in Sandeep's bathroom, known on Insta as @mrsphome_

5. Spa sanctuary. Spa-style bathrooms remain a firm favourite, featuring zen-like minimalist decor, neutral colours and ideally a modern, freestanding tub. Just like this beautiful design by Lucy @eye_4_style.
