Rising to the challenge
There’s always that moment during a big reno project after you’ve knocked down walls and ripped out floors, when you question if it’s all going to be worth it. Imagine this happens just as a pandemic strikes, leaving you for months during lockdown without a working kitchen or heating.
Despite finding herself in just this harrowing situation in March 2020, interiors blogger and mum of two Ali bravely rose to the challenge. You can see the fabulous results on Insta @at.home.with.ali but meanwhile let’s take a look around…
By knocking through several walls, an extensive open plan living area, kitchen and diner has been created, featuring a beautiful herringbone wood floor.
Ali chose white paint to give a fresh clean look to the space, installing new bi-fold doors, radiators and furniture...
...She then added textured rugs and cushions in soft neutral tones for a homely feel.
This room has been converted into an inspiring home office, with bold spotted wallpaper and lots of greenery.
More plants take pride of place in the bathroom, along with a set of super soft and fluffy Hampton and Astley Egyptian cotton towels.
