One of the joys of renovating a period home is discovering hidden gems and original features behind modern décor. The owners of this Edwardian house in south London have gone one step further by hunting down period fireplaces and other pieces that had long since been removed, then restoring them to their original glory.

Charlotte and Alex were lucky enough to find a matching pair of period fireplaces in a local reclamation yard, which look perfectly at place in the bedroom...
...As well as in the sitting room, complemented by sputnik light fittings and subtle, monochrome prints.
More monochrome is blended with neutral shades in the hallway, where a fabulous black console table steals the show.
Traditional styles mix with modern in the bathroom, which features Hampton and Astley indulgently thick Egyptian cotton towels in pure white.
