Who is Klarna?
Klarna is a secure payments service based in Sweden who aim to make paying for things as simple, safe and smooth as possible. They’re used by 147 million consumers across more than 400,000 merchants in 45 countries worldwide.
How does Pay in 3 work?
Klarna Pay in 3 lets you spread the cost of your purchase over three equal payments. The first payment is collected from your debit or credit card when we confirm your order. Klarna then automatically collects the second and third instalments 30 and 60 days later.
Am I eligible for Pay in 3?
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the UK. Eligibility is also subject to your financial circumstances, but applying won't affect your credit rating, even if you’re declined.
What do I need to provide when making a purchase?
You’ll need your mobile number, email address and a valid debit or credit card.
Will a credit search take place against me?
To check you’re eligible for Pay in 3, Klarna may run a soft credit search with a credit reference agency. This won’t affect your credit rating and is only visible to you and Klarna, not other lenders.
Why was I declined?
Klarna's Pay in 3 decision depends upon several factors, including your address details, debit or credit card details, the amount of your order and your past order history. If you’d like more information about your decision, please get in touch with Klarna’s Customer Service team.
Can I pay before the due date?
Yes, you can. You can use the Klarna app or log into Klarna.com/uk to manage your payments.
What happens if my payments don’t go through?
Klarna will automatically collect the payments for your purchase from the debit or credit card you entered at checkout. If Klarna is unable to collect a payment on the scheduled due date, they will make one further attempt to automatically collect the payment two days later.
If this last payment attempt fails, Klarna will send you a statement for the full outstanding order amount which will become payable 15 days later. Klarna will notify you when a payment is due two days in advance of attempting to collect your payment.
You can use the Klarna ap or log into Klarna.com/uk to keep track of all your payments.
What happens to my payments if I return my purchase?
If you wish to return your purchase, please contact Hampton and Astley to start the usual returns process. Once we’ve received your return, Klarna will take it from there and adjust your payments as necessary.
